This creates a wasteful cycle of good materials, that are thrown out once the trend is over. A way to combat it is to not give into what these companies offer. Understanding how a product is made:
A lot goes in making a product and not all of it is good for the environment.

Just because you don’t see the process of how a product is made and brought to you does not mean it doesn’t contribute to your ecological footprint. When a product is made, copious amount of materials, resources and labour go into creating it, negatively impacting the global climate. The transportation of the product you use also contribute to your eco footprint due to greenhouse gases that are produced. Thus, it is important to find out how a product is made and brought to you. Think about it, how badly do you need something, even if it has caused so much harm?

Borrowing and buying and selling second hand:
Just because you don’t need it, it is not worthless. Someone will find a use for it.

Second hand ain’t that bad! If something still functions then it can be used, likewise, if you don’t have a use for it don’t just throw it out. Give it or sell it to someone that may need it, doing this allows older and and still usable products to circulate within your community, supporting your local economy. Also, resources and fuel are not being wasted to create and bring you the new versions of said products, as well as it is not being thrown out.
